Dominica has just concluded the celebrations of the 15th annual World Creole Music Festival and it appears that there maybe some added excitement to the 16th WCMF next year. Representatives from Tempo Networks were on island at the request of the DFC to observe the festival. During an interview with partydominica.com Chairman, Founder and CEO of Tempo Networks, Frederick A. Morton Jr. aka (“Mr. Tempo”) expressed his interests in adding some Tempo flavor into the Creole Festival next year.
According to Mr. Tempo, there is alot of potential in the World Creole Music Festival and his company is very interested in partnering with the Government of Dominica and The Festivals Commission to stage the 16th annual World Creole Music Festival next year. Morton believes that partnering with Tempo would open the way for more exposure to the already prestigious event since, Tempo is currently available in twenty four (24) Caribbean islands and has just completed its US launch, expanding also in Belize, Suriname, Guyana and Haiti within the next six months.
The brand which has been in existence for the past six years and has staged several international and regional concerts will also be able to assist in the technical aspects of the festival. Several meetings were held with the relative authorities to discuss the possibility of WCMF 2012 being staged under the flagship ‘Tempo Presents’.
“The idea is to work closely with the relevant Ministries such as the Ministry of Tourism to further expose the rich culture of Dominica. We are also working on partnerships with Dominica Based businesses, particularly the hospitality industry such as hotels and guest houses, car rental agencies, restaurants, etc. ” said Morton.
The brand now aims to have a country representative in each Caribbean island and as such the search is on for a suitable country representative for the island of Dominica. Morton said that the role of the country rep will be to develop and nurture the business relationships locally to assure that the island is represented on the Network and the country has access to the exposure opportunities.
Morton who was visiting the island for the first time proclaims he has fallen in love. He credits this new found love to the countries natural beauty and people. According to him, the prominent rainfall in Dominica over the season felt like a slice of heaven, since he has loved rain all his life.
Currently Tempo is only available to SAT customers on island. When asked whether it was Tempo’s intention to seek a spot on Marpin, Mr Tempo stated that meetings had already begun and soon Tempo will be available islandwide. That should be some welcome news for many Dominicans who complain about not having access to the Tempo channel.
Dominica Got TEMPO!!! Do you feel the vibe???
