Saturday 19th November was a night that will be remembered by many dominicans. The entertainment capital, Krazy Kokonuts came alive at about 10:30 that evening, to celebrate the 17th anniversary of the existence of popular radio station Kairi Fm along with the birthday of proprietor Frankie ‘Krazy Tee’ Bellot.
Krazy Kokonuts, another entity owned by Krazy Tee, filled quickly with a plethora of patrons all nicely dressed for the prestigious and well awaited event. The VIP section was exceptional and one that will be talked about for months to come. For the first time in the VIP patrons were treated to finger foods by lovely young ladies clad in their white dresses to match the theme of the VIP section. Patrons were also treated to complimentary drinks at the bar.
Dominicans are known to be lovers of reggae and dancehall music hence, the large turnout on that night was not at all surprising. They gathered to celebrate with Frankie and to dance and prance to the sounds of the man who claims to love his life, dancehall artiste Demarco. The artiste came on stage at about midnight and thrilled the dancehall hungry crowd with hits such as ‘duppy know who fi frighten’, the ever popular ‘fallen soldiers’ and not forgetting the one we had all been waiting for, ‘i love my life.’
After Demarco’s performance on stage, VIP patrons were treated to a private party inside Club 91 where they experienced a stunning performance by Sherian and the Band. Â Meanwhile downstairs, Triple Kay Global, with one member short, performed several hit tracks to top the event off in Dominican bacchanal style.
Overall this birthday bash was a tremendous success. Kudos must be given to the Triple K’s of this venture, Krazy Tee, Kairi Fm and Krazy Kokonuts for putting on a magnificent, well organized and violent free event. I am sure that patrons are salivating to see what’s on the cards for next year.
