Organizers and promoters of Ignite de Fyah, a concert previously scheduled for December 3rd have decided to postpone the event to December 10th. This decision was made, so that Dominicans can pay homage to the fallen cadence legend Jefferson ‘Jeff Joe’ Joseph.
The government of Dominica has declared December 3rd, a national day of mourning for the legend, and ordered that flags be flown at half-mast on all public buildings. Miguel Labadie, thanked the Dominican public for understanding and the artists scheduled for agreeing to perform on a new date. Labadie, believes that this postponement was the right thing to do and shows a high level of respect for the late great Jeff Joe.
Artists scheduled to perform at the event include, jamaican artistes, Fanton Mojah and Natural Black. The artistes have extended condolences to the Dominican public. The show will go on next weekend and according to Labadie, it is expected to be much bigger and better.
