Full House for Busy Signal, D-Major, Exco Levi

It was a bit difficult to find your way around the entertainment capital, Krazy Kokonuts on the night of February 3rd, because hundreds of Dominicans busily converged at Krazy Koconuts with their swag turned all the way up to experience thrilling performances from Jamaican dancehall superstar Busy Signal and his companions D-Major and Exco Levi.

This carnival warm up event was the only one which features an international artiste for Carnival 2k12 in Dominica. Patrons of the show were very appreciative of the decision to bring in Busy Signal. The crowd screamed and pranced around with Busy as he performed numerous hits such as ‘Tic Toc’, ‘Comfort Zone’ and ‘These are the days.’

The Jamaican artiste who claims to cater to everyone in his music, remained true to his words as he performed mellow songs for the lovely dominican ladies, the more hyped songs for the gyallis and gansters in the house and he took it back to church for the more mature audience at the show. Following his performance Busy Signal stated that he was thrilled to be in Dominica and that he was very appreciative of the crowd response and he felt as if he could keep singing for an additional five hours. He told partydominica.com that the inspiration behind his music was life it self. He speaks on a lot of everyday issues through his music.

Accompanying artiste D-Major said that he loved the island and the response from the crowd was very encouraging. He went on to state that he couldn’t have given his all at this show and it was only a teaser for the Dominican ladies (who clearly wanted to pull him into the crowd by tugging at his legs and jacket as he sang his popular track ‘That’s what love’s about’). D-Major will be back in Dominica pretty soon, yes Dominican ladies you heard it right the tall stunning D-Major is expected back on island on April7th at the Krazy Kokonuts.

Exco Levi, known for his popular track on the OMG riddim ‘Bleaching Shop’ said that Dominica was an amazing island and he loved the people, the food and the sites on the island. Levi thrilled the crowd with renditions of ‘Bleaching Shop’ and ‘Seems like forever.’ Other acts performing were Lion Heart Records of Portsmouth, Smokie Cut and Triple Kay Global.

Patrons were definately satisfied with the performances, one patron told PartyDominica that he is of the opinion that if other Jamaican artistes can’t come to put on a show like Busy and his crew then they should not even bother. That should give you a feel of how great a performance they gave. Busy Signal who heads to Grenada on Friday is expected to be releasing a strictly reggae album dubbed ‘Reggae Music Again’ in a few weeks. Kudos to Frankie Krazy T Bellot  for putting on a exceptional show. It was a huge success and a great warm up to carnival.
