The contestants are Ayesha Nichols of San Sauveur and Kerlincia Bernard, Shermaine Eustache, Denise Durand and Lina Nichols of Petite Soufriere.

The contestants will appear in talent, casual wear, evening wear and interview segments. The interview segment will be based on the history of St. Isidore, the patron saint of farmers.

The show begins at 4 p.m.

Andra Stoute of Good Hope is the reigning Miss Isidore.

Fete Isidore is observed by the villages of Good Hope, San Sauveur and Petite Soufriere. A panel discussion on the topic-‘Reviving the Agriculture Sector-Challenges and Opportunities,’ will take place on Wednesday May 23rd.

A games night and Lapeau Kabwit competition will be held on Friday May 25th and Fish night and the Kubuli 360 Big Truck Jam are planned for Saturday 26th.

On Sunday May 27th the Miss Isidore pageant will lead into a dance with popular DJ Miguel Labadie.

On Pentecost Monday, May 28th, a parade featuring local bands and groups will proceed to High Mass which will be broadcast live via radio. One elder who has given long and faithful service to the communities and to the celebration of the Feast of St. Isidore will be honoured.

Fete Isidore will climax with music from the Bouyon Pioneers WCK.

Both artists who were visiting the island for the second time expressed much gratitude to the Dominican crowd gathered at the show. D-Major says that he was surprised but excited that the audience knew and sang along to most of his songs. He was very appreciative of the love and support that he has been receiving from Dominican fans.

Christopher Martin who was on the island in May of 2011 was excited to be back again to perform for the lovely Dominican ladies. Martin, says that the love he feels in Dominica can’t be compared to anywhere else. According to him, the ladies love Chris Martin and Chris Martin loves the ladies. This love between the two was very apparent when the ladies attempted to pull the singer into the crowd several times.

Adjrenalin, the deejay who accompanied the Real Friends Duo said that was excited to be in Dominica and that the island was his main focus right now in terms of pumping the real adrenalin music to the public.

Roseau, Dominica (March 31, 2012):  Tickets for the much-anticipated Third Digicel Test – West Indies v Australia – go on sale from Monday, April 2, 2012 from the Digicel Booth at the Windsor Park Stadium.

The Test Match will take place from April 23 to 27 at the Stadium and tickets are seat-specific so persons are encouraged to get their tickets early to ensure that they get their choice of seats.

Tickets will be on sale from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, as follows:

Season tickets cover the first four days only as the cost of tickets for Day 5 is still to be determined (TBC), and that decision will be made at the end of Day 4

Meanwhile, the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) has maintained that, in the interest of the game, special offers to youngsters and senior citizens that were introduced last year will remain in place.  Children 16 years and under, wishing to attend the Test Match will enter free, once they present a child’s ticket and are accompanied by a paying adult.  Each adult purchasing a ticket will be entitled to receive up to five children’s tickets at no cost, while stocks last.  Children must be 16 or under at the time of purchase or entrance to the game.

The special incentive to senior citizens applies to persons born before March 16, 1952.  March 16 was the start date of the current series and persons must have turned 60 prior to this date.  A valid identification card is required in order to obtain a ticket and each senior citizen will qualify for one free ticket for each day of play.

Dominica Cricket Association’s (DCA) Media Liaison, Marie-Antoinette Mora, said the Marketing Team, a sub-committee of the Event Management Team organizing the upcoming Test scheduled for April 23 to 27, is constantly looking at ways to engage the general public.

“This is just one of the exciting initiatives that we have come up with to motivate local cricket-loving fans.  Persons spotted by members of our team with the bumper sticker on their vehicles will get a chance to win season tickets to the Test.  We will be moving around the island and taking note of the vehicle registrations with bumper stickers and they will all be entered into a draw,” explained Ms. Mora.

Persons can collect stickers at the DCA office located at the Windsor Park Stadium, from Digicel outlets and various Digicel TopUp vendors around the island.  Cricket lovers can also get a chance to win tickets by tuning into Digicel programmes on local radio stations, “Off the Field” on DBS with Brian Francis and by logging on to the Discover Dominica Authority (DDA) website at www.discoverdominica.com.

Hot on the heels of the Ncore Band’s ‘Deja Buile’ music video, the second town-based hip hop group CHOEB has released the video for their hit song ‘Magic Touch.’

The video has set the social media, especially Facebook, abuzz, and quickly racked up well over 1,000 views in less than 24 hours since its release on Sunday, February 26.

‘Magic Touch’ is the third single on CHOEB’s first official album, titled “Under the Lights.” The video was directed by Chad Ambo, a recent university graduate who specialized in Multimedia Production at UWI Mona.

Responding to questions about the viability of a hip-hop group in Dominica, and whether or not it is an attempt at replicating America culture, Ambo responded, “If you look on the international scene right now you have artists like Rihanna, Akon and Nicki Minaj who have non-US roots, and have gone on to dominate the American charts and market. The CHOEB members are talented; who knows if they will get the opportunity to export this talent? But I see nothing wrong in allowing young people to channel their time and energy into positive things that they enjoy doing, instead of idling and getting involved in negative acts.”

Many were seen clad in a variety of costumes, they ranged from the Jean Bois cavemen to the Playboy Bunnies, School Girls, Fairies among others. The smell of food from restaurants set up on the side of the streets filled the morning air. The carnival lovers paraded and partied until 10 am. At that point it was time to rest, rest for what was to come later, the parade of the tshirt bands.

At about 2 pm the crowd began reassembling in the capital City Roseau for round two, the t-shirt band parade. Carnival lovers danced and pranced and reveled to the sounds of WCK, Triple Kay, Fanatic and Swinging Stars until 10 pm. From then on it was rejuvenating time for the costume parade on Carnival Tuesday.
