Creole Bord La Mer, stalled by Violence

One incident of violence brought a premature end to Creole Bord La Mer on Sunday morning. Creole Bord La Mer an accessory to the World Creole Music Festival is staged every year at 6am on Sunday morning after the festival.

Patrons of the WCMF flocked the Dame Eugenia Charles Boulevard in Roseau to enjoy local  creole cuisine and dance to the sounds of some of the smaller bands. The event kicked off with the WCK Band alongside the other smaller bands who did not perform at the festival.

 

The presence of representatives from Tempo was duly noted by members of the general public. The event seemed to be going smoothly when XS Groove from Morne Prosper took the stage. However, shortly after 1 pm an altercation between to young men ensued. The cause of the altercation is not known. The event was immediately stopped by the authorities. One man was taken into custody by the police and the other was transferred to the Princess Magaret Hospital for treatment.
